THE 2010 NFL SEASON IS GONE! The NFL Season has finished and
with it we have crowned a number of new Balckyball Champions! Once
again Pigskin Pickem and the Suicide Pool were a great success and Josh
Pond & John Hutchinson walked away with the championship. Our
newest NFL Fantasy Game, the Losers Lounge Pool, was won by Jason Carey
and Phil Malamatenios. And the Super Square doubled in size this year,
with two big board and number of winners on Championship weekend and
Superbowl Sunday.
Once again 10% of the entry fees this year were
donated to the Children's Cardiomyopathy Foundation, over $1500 to help
in the fight against pediatric heart disease. (http://www.childrenscardiomyopathy.org ).
We
look forward to seeing everyone back in March for the Hoops Challenge
and the two new games, Super Square - Final Four and the first no entry
fee pool, Hoops Madness!
Good luck to all! Chris 'The Commish'
14th ANNUAL PIGSKIN PICKEM - $55 entry fee Time
to prove you can pick the winning teams! Pigskin Pickem uses a
confidence scoring system, pick the winners and then rank your picks
from 16 to 1 point. Weekly prize to the top score and overall winners
take home the pot at season's end! Last year's winners took home
over $3000+!
______________________________________________________________________________
6th ANNUAL NFL SUICIDE POOL - $54 entry fee Can
you survive the NFL season? Pick one team per week that you think will
win their game. That's it. But pick carefully, you can only use each
team once during the season! The 2009 winner took over over $2400!
1ST INAUGURAL NFL LOSERS LOUNGE POOL - $54 entry fee Do
you always get knocked out of your Suicide Pool in the first couple
weeks? The Losers Lounge is right up your alley! Pick one team per
week that you are confident will loser their game but pick carefully,
you can only use each team once during the season.
Do you believe in miracles?? Well Jim Gillum does! Fighting against unsurmountable odds, somehow, someway, Jim Gillum fought off all the competitors to win his first Pigskin Pickem title!!
Brett Zingler made a late season charge but could not get closer than 4 points in the final two weeks. He will settle for 2nd place, while 'The Mayor', Rick Soares takes 3rd place, his highest finish ever! Closing out the Top 5 was Matt Sherer in 4th place and the always competitive Kevin Sincock in 5th place.
Cash! It is time to pay all the weekly winners as well as the Top 5! The Top 5 will be paid out as follows: - 1st - $1295 - 2nd - $518 - 3rd - $310 - 4th - $259 - 5th - $130
If you won a weekly pot, please email me your address so I can send you a check.
2004 PIGSKIN PICKEM OVERVIEW - (pigskin site on CBS Sportsline) And the Pigskin Champion is........ Bernie Eshel!! Big Bernie led the pool most
of the year and held off a late charge from a number of worthy Pickers. But in
the end, none of them could step up in the final week to grab the championship.
So Bernie Eshel is the 2004 Pigskin Pickem Champion!!
For his efforts
Bernie will take home $1145 plus one weekly $30 pot! He was followed by the
always competitive Kevin Sincock and Dan Stebbins, both in the Top 5 last year.
The defending champion, Mike Booker placed a respectable 4th while Mike D and
Chris Pallares tied for 5th place. Andy Creager and the Queen Picker, Jenni
Balck both get a pat on the back for finishing close to the leaders.

2003 BALCK’S PIGSKIN PICKEM CHAMPION IS CROWNED! January 2, 2004 | |
In one of the closest Pigskin Pickem finishes of all time, Mike Booker held off Chaz Ramsden by 2 points and has been crowned Balck’s Pigskin Pickem Champion for 2003! By showing a deep knowledge of football and precise picking skills, Mike consistently put up big numbers and never had an off week. Booker will now join the ranks of past Champions in Pigskin Pickem folklore and add $800 to his bank account!!
Nobody remembers who finished 2nd and although Chaz walks away disappointed, he will still receive $300 for his effort. Somehow Dan Stebbins avoided the ‘Stebbins Stumble’ and held onto his 3rd place spot and the $200 check. John Paulsen nipped Kevin Sincock and Chris Pallares for 4th place Roger Exline finished in 7th place and gets a little $40 check for his efforts.
Thanks to everyone for participating, I hope you had a good time this season. To all the new Pickers, we will do it again next year, feel free to recruit a few of your friends. Below you will find all $$$ payout information, details on my Superbowl pools and some meaningless facts from this years Pigskin pool!
Have a great new year! Balck

USELESS FACTS
Chris Balck was: 4 points better than Creager (not greasy enough) 44 points better than Carlson (friends since kindergarten and I am still beating up on you) 59 points better than Perry Pie (final week win narrowed the gap) 81 points better than Chip (you suck) 85 points better than Mike Pardi (just like your brother) 93 points better than Chronert (Best Man got whipped by both Balck’s) 158 points better than Wallace! (any brains in the big dome??) 274 points better than Gillum (just plain ugly)
Pathetic Pickers – Jim Young, Alan Maxwell, Laura Stutz and Dumbass Joe – All of whom forgot to make their picks at least 5 times! Thanks for the donations.
Mika was 3 points better than Bartolucci.
Worst Weekly Effort – Juan Fuentes and Darren Rashkin tied with 27 points in week 9!
Best Weekly Effort – Chaz and Jeanne in Week 15, they tied with 132 points. Perfect score is 136.
Rickleffs was 1 point better than C. Balck but more importantly, the defending champion choked down the stretch and went from a contender to a pretender.
Queen Picker – Jenni Balck finished in 10th place! 4 points ahead of her husband and past champion, Chris Balck. 8 pts ahead of Andy Creager, 56 points ahead of Derek Halpern, 97 points ahead of ‘best man’ Todd Chronert, 117 points ahead of her daddy Raider Rick, 200 points ahead of Todd Marlatt
Jeanne Meyer was 28 points better than her hubby Rick, completing the wife over husband sweep in this year’s pool.
Chaz was 24 points better than Paulsen, who was 64 points better than Bartolucci, who was 47 points better than Rashkin, Rashkin really wasn’t better than anybody.
Rookie of the Year – Chris Pallares, first time out he lands in 6th place overall. Not to shabby!

You are invited to join the 7th Annual Balck's Pigskin Pickem! Can you pick NFL games better than your buddies? Prove it!
SCORING SYSTEM A weighted / confidence scoring system will be used each week. You will select the winners each week, straight up. In addition you will assign confidence points to each game. The team you are most confident will win receives a 16, 2nd most confident a 15, 3rd a 14...... and so on down to 1 for the game you are least confident in your pick. See the Help Menu for more details.
POT PAYOUT Last year's winner took home almost $500! This year the entry fee has been raised $10 (to $40) and I expect more people to participate, so the winner may walk with $500-800. Each week, the player with the highest point total will win at least $25 plus there will be other weekly payouts. At year-end, overall 2nd - 10th place will be paid from the pot as well. Pot payout amounts will depend on the number of entries and will be announced Week One.
WHO CAN PLAY You are invited but feel free to include co-workers and friends. All I ask is please collect their entry fee from them and please email me and let me know they are your friend. Just click on the link below to join!!
