HOME RUN DERBY NEWS
Unfortunately the Home Run Derby Pool is no longer available. It became to much work to manage the pool and I was unable to find a website that has a similar pool setup. HR Derby was by far one of the most popular pools run by Balckyball. If you know of a site that has a similar game setup, please let me know.
WELCOME TO THE 2006 HOME RUN DERBY!
Pick a team of eight Major League Baseball Players who will compete against other teams in a season long Home Run Derby. Prizes will be awarded to Monthly Leaders and the Overall Winners at the end of the season. Home Runs by each player will be tracked throughout the entire MLB season.
'Sub a Dud Rules' - Friday, July 1st at 12:00 pm PST.
Home Run Derby is coming to the midway point and for the first time, you are
allowed to Sub out your worst player. Please read the rules below and follow
them closely!
- You may substitute a player but it is not required!
- All subs must be emailed to me by 12:00 pm PST on July 1st.
- Your sub must be at least equal value to your dud or a Wild Card:
A Wild Card can only be subbed by another Wild Card.
A 'C player' can be subbed by a 'C player' or a Wild Card.
A 'B player' can be subbed by a 'B player' or a Wild Card.
And an 'A player' can be subbed by an 'A player' or a Wild Card.
- SCORING - You will receive HR points from your dud up to June 30th and then your Sub will start scoring on July 1st through the end of the season.

IMPORTANT DETAILS
- Entry Fee: - $25 per team (you may enter more than one team)
- Entry Deadline: All entries must be received via website by Monday, April 18th
- Friends, family and co-workers are all welcome to play!
- Refer 7 new teams and receive a FREE Entry into HR Derby. (Read Details Below)
- NEW - Groups! Everyone is competing for the overall championship but setup a side group to compete with friends or co-workers (Current groups: Chico, Colorado)
- NEW - Need a sub? On July 1st you will be allowed a sub for your most underperforming player.
HOME RUN DERBY RULES
Every team will consist of eight Major League Baseball players. Home Runs by each player will be tracked throughout the entire MLB season, from start to finish.
- Your team must have eight (8) MLB players
- Select only (4) players from the (22) listed in Groups A, B and C
- (1) player from Group A
- (1) player from Group B
- (2) players from Group C
- The last (4) players on your team have to be your own selections / wild cards.
- Wild cards cannot be from Groups A, B or C or your entry will be VOID.
Each player you select is on your team for the duration of the season regardless of:

AWARD STRUCTURE
| | 1st place - 50% of Total Entry Fees | | 4th place - 10% of Total Entry Fees | | 2nd place - 20% of Total Entry Fees | | 5th place - 5% of Total Entry Fees | | 3rd place - 12% of Total Entry Fees | | Trifecta Pot - 3% (paid end of year) |
**Monthly Awards determined by total number of entries. Award Payout based on an Entry Fee of $23.00. $2.00 per entry will be used to cover the costs of statistics software and data entry.
HR DERBY REFERRAL PROGRAM
Refer 7 NEW players that did not participate in 2004 and you will receive a FREE Entry in the 2005 Home Run Derby. New participants may qualify as well if they refer 7 new players.
- Make sure new players fill your name in the Referred By: field on the entry form.
- To qualify for the Free Entry you must have at least one paid entry for yourself.
- Referring 14 new players will qualify you for 2 Free Entries
- Free Entries will be completed immediately after entry deadline.
- Family members (ie son, daughter, wife don't count as a new referral)
